Since May 2015, Classroom of the Elite has been one of the most popular series among psychology fans. It was positively received worldwide thanks to its captivating plot and charismatic main character. However, the very reason for its dazzling success is the way in which the author, Shougo Kinugasa, masterfully mixes suspense, drama and mystery and this is entirely due to its Light Novel version.

The characters in the series are enigmatic, with sometimes well-hidden depths that gradually come to the surface as the story progresses, making the story even more captivating. The series has managed to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers alike.
Fans who were worried about the original light novel series can now breathe a sigh of relief, as the conclusion to Shougo Kinugasa’s magnum opus is still far from complete.

The Classroom of the Elite light novel continues to unfold
The first series of Classroom of the Elite novels began publishing under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint on May 25, 2015 and concluded with fourteen volumes on September 25, 2019, leaving fans with a feeling of melancholy as They thought the light novel had reached its end.

However, to the delight of fans, Shougo Kinugas announced Classroom of the Elite: Year 2, a sequel to the original series.

Year 2 of the light novel also began publishing under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J brand on January 24, 2020, just three months after the end of the first episode. The light novel recently released Volume 10 of Year 2, the 27th overall volume of Classroom of the Elite, on October 25, 2023. Excellent news, especially as Season 3 of Classroom of the Elite is about to be released in anime.
In France, the light novel is unfortunately not officially published.
Considering the synopsis of the 10th volume of Year 2, the light novel is far from over, as many battles are ahead for the students of Advanced Nurturing High School. A brief synopsis of Volume 10 of Year 2, written by MF Bunko of Media Factory, reads:
“With winter break over, the third semester of Advanced Nurturing High School has begun. Right away, the special survival and abandonment examination was announced. This is both an offensive and defensive battle, in which the four classes challenge other competing classes in different subject genres. Classroom of the Elite is set in modern-day Tokyo and focuses on Advanced Nurturing High School, a cutting-edge institution created by the Japanese government to educate and encourage the younger generation who will support the country’s future.
On the surface, the establishment is a paradise for foreigners, but in reality, it falls far short of this ideal image. The school operates on the basis of a system of fierce competition, with four classes ranging from A to D, ranked according to merit. Students in each class benefit from more or less preferential treatment, with class A benefiting from the most favorable conditions while class D receiving the least.

The story follows Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, a prodigy from a secret institution called the “White Room,” where he was conditioned to possess unparalleled intelligence and incredible physical abilities, making him a superior specimen of humanity.
Despite his prowess, he enrolled in Class D. After befriending a few of his classmates on his own, Kiyotaka headed toward academic life.
