The famous robot cat is back! The Japanese publishing house Tentômushi Comics will publish on December 1st, to celebrate its fifty years, the seventh volume of the manga Doraemon More than Fujiko Fujio. December 1 also marks what would have been the 90th birthday of Fujiko F. Fujio, the late co-creator of Doraemon. The previous volume was published in 2014 – this volume will therefore be the first to be released in nine years.
Doraemon Plus was released in 2005 as a compilation of Doraemon stories created by Fujiko F. Fujio (Hiroshi Fujimoto) which were not published in the 45 volumes of the original manga. The sixth volume includes 21 stories, and the next volume promises 20.
Shogakukan released F Life, the official magazine for Fujio’s 80th anniversary, in 2014. The creator’s work has been celebrated through various derivative products, magazines, a video game, and even an exhibition. Fujiko Fujio A (Motoo Abiko), the other creator, died in April 2022 at his home in Kawasaki, Tokyo. He was 88 years old.
In France, the anime remains unpublished while the manga is published by Not at all.
